BC's greatest culinary talents flocked to the Sheraton Wall Centre on April 23rd for the results of the 23rd Annual Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards

Over 700 chefs, restaurateurs, local celebrities, and food and beverage industry insiders came out to celebrate the 23rd Annual Restaurant Awards. Before the ceremony commenced, guests tasted wine, beer, and spirits from top producers and tasted dishes from the nominated restaurants. Asian cuisine, local fare, decadent desserts, and more were on offer in the Chefs' Showcase where finalist chefs showed off their menus. The Sheraton Wall Centre had their chefs hard at work too—turning out delicious morsels of seafood, meat, and sweet treats. After getting their fill of food and drinks, attendees settled in for the awards presentation hosted by Urban Rush's Mike Eckford and Fiona Forbes. Perennial winners accepted accolades alongside first-time gold recipients, while new categories—like Best Pizzeria, Best Noodle House, and the Mentorship Award—recognized the changing landscape of the city's food scene. When the last award had been handed out, guests poured into the lobby to preview beers from the upcoming Vancouver Craft Brew Week paired to Mexican fare from Doña Cata.

 Those who didn't want the day to end headed straight to the after party at JOEY Bentall One Wine Room. They were greeted with beer from Steam Whistle, a selection of premium wines, and tasty bites off JOEY's menu—including some new items, just being released. A few local DJs kept the crowd energized with their savvy music selections and the celebrations continued well into the evening.
