We're skipping Sunday's Olypmic events in favour of the 4th AnnualVariety Mascot Race at Hastings Racecourse. Exactly what it sounds like, on July 29 all of your favourite mascots (of COURSE you have a favourite mascot) will hit the Hastings Racecourse to see who will reign supreme. There will be regular mascot heats all day, after the first horse race (1:50pm). From Jack of the Vancouver Giants to Red of Red Robin, every mascot brings out their A game for the Variety Children’s Charity fundraiser. Gather up your friends and cheer on your favourite mascot—Bread Head of Cobs Bread has won first place for the past three years, but this time we’ve got our money on the Philbert, the Purdy’s hedgehog, if this charming training video from last year is any indication of his dedication.
