VANCOUVER MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION

Best of Category
Bodegas Castaño Monastrell Dulce 2001 Spain $26.95

This is a stunning dessert wine made from black Monastrell (Mourvédre) grapes grown in the region of Yecla, not far from Valencia. Super-concentrated blackberry and dried raisin flavours with caramel, toffee, and chocolate undertones. Great for old-fashioned custard desserts; even better with stinky-as-you-dare cheeses.
