VANCOUVER MAGAZINE INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION

Dr. Loosen Riesling Dr. L. 2005 Germany $16.95

How’s this for too-good-to-be-true: it’s Riesling, it’s German, it’s fun and it’s eminently affordable. Thanks to Dr. Loosen (one of the Mosel’s greatest producers) it’s all for real. This is wine for wine’s sake—light, lively, juicy, fruity. Peaches, apricots and a touch of spritz. Pure pleasure. If you think you need an excuse to drink it (you don’t), think Thai or good curry.
