South Granville

Event

Scott Macfarland

Mar 29, 2012
Cheltenham Badlands, a photograph 116.5 by 44 inches, is one of two large images that will dominate this two-part exhibition by the noted Vancouver photoconceptualist. Taken at the end of winter 2010, the traditional landscapes of the Badlands series represent moments of transition into spring. (McFarland has a career-long interest in landscape art.) Repatriation, 165 by 58 inches and capturing moments from repatriation ceremonies, reflects on the heroism of Canadian soldiers fallen in Afghanistan.
