Passa Tempo at Spirit Ridge

The contemporary décor and the unexpectedly urban menu at Passa Tempo is a sign of the (happily) changing times in the deep South Okanagan. This on-site restaurant, not far north of the U.S. border at the newish Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa (also home to Nk’Mip Cellars winery), is open breakfast (where the eggs are “free-run”) to dinner (where the bison is “free-range”). The poolside patio also overlooks Osoyoos Lake and is a great stop for afternoon tapas or a sunset dinner of Queen Charlotte Islands halibut with preserved lemon and Tofino shrimpmeat risotto ($27), or rack of lamb with goat cheese and wild mushroom bread pudding ($39) along with a bottle of South Okanagan wine.
