The room takes its cues from a traditional diner with its wooden booths, counter, and stools, and menu board possibly lifted from Woolworth’s. But from this modest space come wonderful Italian sandwiches and pasta dishes: the $8 porchetta sandwich is a rich, herby feast of meat cubes in a light but chewy bun; penne with rapini pesto and roast tomato for $12 is properly rich. Limited wine and beer, and more suited for meeting friends than business lunches.
