One of our favourite casuals in the valley, the Waterfront is not, in fact, on any body of water; it’s next door to its excellent companion wine shop and the nearby Prospera Place. The menu is a model of simplicity: choose from among 10 or so starters, including such well-done basics as a pestle-pounded caesar dressing over romaine ($9), a nifty plate of olives ($6), or tandoori masala spiced calamari ($13). Main courses range from roasted halibut with leek Boulangere potatoes and white miso broth ($27) to perfectly braised beef ribs with cheese polenta frites ($28).
