As much a brunch destination as it is a place to scarf late at night, the unassuming but tightly wrought Abigail’s Party serves its neighbourhood admirably. The food is ethically sourced, from the Pemberton Meadows beef burger (loaded with double-smoked bacon, aged cheddar, caramelized onions, and garlic aioli) to the Ocean Wise-approved slab of salmon in maple pecan glaze. Don’t miss the creamed corn, spiced as it is with ancho chilies, or the brunch menu’s superb hash of bison short rib. There are five Benny options, and as many properly made mimosas. Located just up the street from Kits Beach, its small patio also provides prime people-watching in summer.
