The Cellar Door Bistro is one of the valley’s better casual stops. Take something simple from executive chef Roger Planiden’s card, such as pistachio-crusted goat cheese ($12), or match the diverse selection of varietal wines including a very tasty Gewürztraminer, a fine Pinot Blanc married to salmon (lunch, $18; dinner, $25), or anything matched with one of the country’s best sparklers, Steller’s Jay Brut. Red-wine lovers can test out blended and single-varietal labels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.
