S ome foodies sniff that Jean-Georges is not in the kitchen, but who cares when jhe's trained his staff to produce consistent, quality dishes at how-do-they-do-it prices. The extensive Pacific Northwest-inspired menu has something for everyone: picky eaters, a celebratory crowd, out-of towners. The salon-like room glitters elegantly and the service is smooth and unobtrusive; the patio, on the other hand,has an L.A.-meets-South Beach vibe. Try the tuna tartare with its spciy ginger-radish dressing ($17), roasted carrot and avocado salad ($10), the decadent truffle burger ($19), or any local seafood under the banner "Simply Cooked." Great spot for breakfast, too.
