In 2007, restaurateur Sal Gupta (ex–Ric’s Grill) opened his version of a “prime” steakhouse in downtown Kelowna. A sleek room with leather seats, banquettes, and attentive service. Its menu screams old-school, but chef Aneeta Shourie modernizes by sourcing local cheeses and adding playful updates. Top sirloin and ubiquitous (and overrated) kobe beef arrive at your table—in the style of Morton’s—for a pre-dinner inspection. There are lots of worthwhile salads and seafood options; on the grape front, the far-reaching wine list can quickly get expensive.
