Significant renovations have restored the beauty of this 1911 heritage room’s pressed-tin ceiling, rustic fir beams, and original mosaic floors. The So.Cial conglomerate also includes: an attached Custom Butcher Shop and Deli, which produces cured meats and churns out monstrous midday sandwiches; a streetside patio with ringside seats for Gastown tourist watching; and a lower-level oyster bar for more casual dining. A prix fixe menu is on offer ($45 for three courses, $60 for four). But à la carte diners will discover foie gras prepared with new cherries and elderflower gel ($25) or a Queen Charlotte halibut with clams, cauliflower, and clam foam (hmm) for $26.
