Best Steakhouse/Chops: Gotham Steakhouse

Gotham (Gold) was voted top spot to cut into a serious slab of Canadian Prime beef; it also has the city’s tastiest filet mignon, broiled to a perfect Chicago (or Pittsburgh) sear.

USDA Prime is the star at Morton’s (Silver), where old-school iceberg salads drenched in blue-cheese dressing are just the thing.

Of Neil Wyles, chef and proprietor of the Hamilton Street Grill (Bronze), one judge remarked that “the sarcastic chef can cook a mean hanger steak: full of flavour and surprisingly tender for this tricky cut of beef.”

Bronze to home-style Memphis Blues and Honourable Mention to the venerable Hy’s Encore, two rooms that represent opposite ends of the red-meat-dining spectrum.
