Of Araxi, our Gold winner, our judges
said: “This enduring room seems to get better
every year. Chef James Walt takes his pick of ingredients
from the nearby Pemberton Valley and crafts them into
lush, textured dishes full of flavour.” “The
wine list features an impressive array of local and
imported bottles, and service is seamless.”
Chef
Melissa Craig, fresh from her win as best chef at the
Golden Medal Plates Canadian culinary championship,
secures Silver standing for Bearfoot Bistro,
with proprietor André St. Jacques—“Take
out a bank loan, treat your friends, have André
sabre a bottle of Champagne for you. You’ll be
a hero.”
At Fifty Two 80 Bistro (Bronze)
at the Four Seasons, guests can cozy up to the pretty
tiled fireplace, slurp fresh-shucked oysters, and dig
into dishes skillfully crafted by executive chef Scott
Thomas Dolbee. “Small wonder the hotel scored
the Five Diamond Award from AAA this year,” said
one judge.
Rim Rock Café and Après both
earned Honourable Mentions.
