Drive mainstay for 30 years and counting stocks Italian pantry staples like dried pasta (every shape made from everything to classic durum wheat to organic kamut), imported sauces, olive oils, vinegars, coffees, frozen fare (we like their own line of stuffed pastas such as the superb fagotini with gorgonzola and walnut)—and gadgets (milk frothers, meat mincers, cheese graters). But the main draw is the cheese counter, where imports mingle with artisanal B.C. brands like Carmelis, Moonstruck, Little Qualicum, and Natural Pastures. Come lunchtime, lines for their uber-fresh, made-to-order panini snake down the deli counter and into the pasta aisle (sharp elbows recommended).
