Liberty foregoes the steroidal portions many bakeries embrace in favour of silver-dollar-sized cookies, squares, and meringues prepared with old recipes. (The biscotti are a tad bland; the raisin-filled Eccles cookie is a better bet.) A hearty lunch menu consists of panini sandwiches and daily soups like the flavourful vegan black bean chili with lime. Arrive early to snag a table.
