Vancouver's fashion savvy sought shelter from the storm at 44 Water Street last night as Obakki launched their Spring/Summer 2011 collection. With splashes of colour, like the coral-tinted kaftan Keala blouse, and infinitely useful S/S staples, like the cuffed Shayne shorts, the collection achieved all the glamour and the freedom of the summer roadtrips that inspired it. DJ Nina Mendoza's beats maintained the unbound mood, while Simon Kaulback, lead bartender at Gastown's Boneta, delighted with his cocktails. Some lucky guests even got a sneak peak at Boneta's new open-patio locale, at 12 Water Street, set to open in early summer. --Taraneh Ghajar Jerven
