This sleek modern kitchen/storefront/ diner hides a wealth of goodies. Quince Express offers vacuum-packed gourmet delights such as favourites crab ravioli and chipotle-marinated flat iron steak—if you’re lucky the steak might appear in one of their daily sandwich specials. The on-site studio kitchen hosts a cooking school offering intensive classes of all flavours for the dedicated foodie. Oh, and they cater, too.

Kaplan’s Star Deli

Top smoked-meat sandwich west of Montreal; house-made strudels, rugelach, and veggie soup warm the heart. Order pastrami on rye with coleslaw, chopped liver, and chicken matzo ball soup. A few Chicago dogs on the menu and decent knish served with sour cream. They cater, too.
