Mark Brand’s new charity A Better Life Foundation celebrates its official launch with a fundraiser at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The $250 ticket (with $175 tax receipt) includes food and wine served by Vancouver Community College, talks by Globe & Mail's finance expert Preet Banjeree and investment and philanthropy pro Joel Solomon, and music by local lad (and Mother Mother’s lead singer) Ryan Guldemond. A Better Life Foundation aims to increase food security and accessibility in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
Considered by many to be a right of passage for any "Vancouverite," the Sun Run established itself as one of the largest running events in the world last year with over 60,000 participants. Run, jog, walk, skip, prance, or whatever you like to help support the Canadian Cancer Society and promote physical activity. In the wake of this year's tragedy at the Boston Marathon, be sure to also don your marathon blue and yellow in solidarity with the victims and their families.
