Four girls from Northern Ghana—each a recent high school graduate thanks to the Vancouver-based Create Change Foundation*—come to the Vogue Theatre November 23 to share their stories of struggle and ultimate triumph: completing their high school education. Special musical guests include the The Boom Booms and The Reckoners.

On the occasion of its 40th Anniversary, the Contemporary Art Gallery (CAG) is celebrating its position as one of the longest standing, free public art galleries, with an annual gala and art auction. Emerging and established artists have generously donated artwork to the auction, including Marcel Dzama, Ryan Gander, Roy Arden, Ian Wallace, Elizabeth McIntosh, Federico Herrero, Andrew Dadson and Jeff Wall. Passion for Justice is Pivot Legal Society’s annual benefit party and charity auction. A night for fun, celebration and social change, the evening's entertainment includes expanded drag performances by Carlotta Gurl and friends, a silent and live auction, music from DJ K-Tel and much more. All proceeds support Pivot’s community legal work for residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Ring in the holiday season this year at the annual Family Christmas Ball. Friends and families gather for a formal dinner to celebrate the spirit of coming together and giving back to the community. November's event marks the Family Christmas Ball Society's 47th year of fundraising for lesser-known children’s charities in Vancouver. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Lasting Magic and B.C. Childhood Cancer Parents’ Association.
