Asahi Tribute ball game

Sep 18, 2011

From 1914 to 1941, the Japanese Canadian Asahi Baseball Team made a name for themselves in Vancouver, claiming 10 Vancouver Senior League championships and five Pacific Northwest championships in a row. Instilling pride within a community faced with racial prejudice, they played like no other team—their strategies in fielding and pitching, and their well-practiced bunting and base stealing were legendary. Celebrate the 70th anniversary of their last game played on Sept 18, 1941 by playing baseball in the park.
