We think you'll love this dance show on a side of a building, but maybe we're just projecting.

1. UNION Art Exhibition

Through June 5

Sci-fi nerds, this one’s for you. The Richmond Art Gallery’s newest exhibition is set in the year 3000, and artists Nancy Lee and Kiran Bhumber have constructed a world in which all humans are isolated (imagine that!) but connected virtually. UNION explores the story of two individuals longing for touch (again, relatable), connecting with lost history, and challenging women’s gender expectations in East and South Asian cultures.

When: Through Saturday, June 5
Where: Richmond Art Gallery
Cost: By donation
More Info: richmondartgallery.org

2. Bacchanalia Online Wine Auction

April 27 to May 1

This is about as two-birds-one-stone as virtual events get—and you can get some wine out of it, too. Bard on the Beach and the Vancouver Wine Fest are collaborating for this virtual auction of wine and wine experiences: think a rare 15-litre bottle of Champagne Taittinger Brut Reserve valued at $3000 and wine tastings at Mission Hill.

When: Tuesday, April 27 to Saturday, May 1
Where: Online

3. Talking Stick Festival’s Spring Awakening

April 29 to May 1

The second edition of the online Talking Stick Festival kicks off this week, celebrating Indigenous performance of all kinds (music, dance, spoken word and more). Join in a virtual plant walk with ethno-botanist Cease Wyss and festival founder Margo Kane, watch Inuit-style throat singing performances, and see the Spring Fling Ab-Cabaret chock full of music and dance—more details here.

You were probably going to order pizza sometime this week, anyway, but La Pizza Week is curating a list of local restaurants participating in this country-wide celebration of ‘za. Each restaurant will have a special pizza on offer for the occasion, and the full list of restaurants goes live on Monday, April 26.
