1. Di Beppe's Polenta Fest
Through April 30
Di Beppe's Festa della Polenta is on all month, and they're serving up—you guessed it—a lot of polenta. The prix-fixe menu includes polenta croccante with chicken liver pate, creamy polenta with ragù di cinghiale and a polenta cake with candied orange, walnut and vanilla Zabaglione. There's a la carte options, too.
2. Empire of the Son
Tetsuro Shigematsu has reimagined his award-winning play, and now the playwright is livestreaming from his own house. Empire of the Son is a funny and emotionally powerful story of a father and son, and you can watch it live from anywhere (maybe send a ticket to your dad, too).
When: Thursday April 7 to Saturday April 9
Cost: From $22

3. Easter Cookie Decorating
'Tis the season for cookies that look like eggs and chickens. Brush up on your cookie decorating skills in this workshop with Food Network alumn chef Michelle Borne. You'll be decorating and assembling an entire Easter basket made of cookies.
4. BC Distilled
April 8 and 9
BC Distilled returns in-person this year with the main festival at the Croatian Cultural Centre plus special dinners and VIP tastings. There's over 100 spirits to try at this event (so take it easy, people).
5. A "High" Tea Party
Muse Cannabis is throwing a tea tasting party this Saturday with drinks from CBD beverage company Everie (and there's free coffee and scones, too). 10% of the sales from this event go to Music Heals, a local nonprofit that supports music therapy for vulnerable Canadians.
