1. Watch a Capoeira-Hip Hop Dance Show

October 21 to 23

Montreal-based Rubberband dance company's 2020 show was the first Dancehouse cancelled because of the pandemic, so it's fitting that it's also the first one they're bringing back to live audiences. Ever So Slightly combines "capoeira and b-boy style;" it's a high-energy performance you'll want to ooh and ahh over.

When: Thursday October 21 to Saturday October 23, shows at 8:00 p.m.
Where: Vancouver Playhouse
Cost: From $35
More Info: dancehouse.ca

4. Buy Art (and Support the Kids) at the Arts Umbrella's Splash Gala and Auction

October 23

The Arts Umbrella's annual art auction and gala is this weekend, and online tickets are still available. For a remote experience, it's pretty sweet—a livestream of the event, home catering delivery with cocktails, dedicated phone bidding, and an invitation to a Pendulum Gallery private tour. There's work from almost 100 local and international artists (including the piece by Dana Claxton pictured above) available. The event proceeds benefit youth arts education across Metro Vancouver.

When: Saturday October 23, 6:00 p.m.
Where: The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and online
Cost: From $400

5. Visit Once a Tree's Pop Up Shop

It's cozy season, and if you're looking to update your linens (and not play a guessing game of is-this-actually-comfy while shopping online) you can head over to Once a Tree—they're hosting a pop-up with Au Lit Fine Linens until the end of November. They're the only retailer in Canada carrying an exclusive collection, so this is your only change to touch before buying.
