May 5

Alternatively to running 42+ kilometres, you could also celebrate the 5th of May the Tacofino way: with tacos, beer and mariachi music. Las Estrellas de Vancouver, our city’s only all-female mariachi ensemble, performs at the Gastown Taco Bar at 1:00 p.m. and at Ocho at 5:00 p.m., while the La Santisma double-guitar vaquero duo performs at the Gastown Taco Bar at 7:00 p.m. The celebration also functions as the opening of patio season, so you can enjoy your handfuls of heaven with the sunshine illuminating your satisfied, taco-stuffed face.
