6 Unique Wedding Venues in and Around Vancouver

Looking for a one-of-a-kind venue for your Vancouver wedding? These six unique spots will fit the bill.

Selecting a wedding venue is one of the most exciting decisions that engaged couples get to make—but it comes with a lot of pressure. You need to find a space that’s special enough for the occasion, but also one that reflects your personality and relationship. In other words: your local church, hotel or banquet hall isn’t going to cut it.

To help narrow the search, we’ve rounded up some of the most unique wedding venues in (or near) Vancouver, from a converted heritage building to a charming greenhouse. Take a look through our top picks.

1. The Permanent

Location: Vancouver

Maximum Capacity: 250 standing; 130 seated

Price: From $4,000

Once home to the Bank of Canada, this landmark building in the heart of downtown Vancouver is filled with glam, heritage details: think ornate crown moulding, bronze chandeliers and tile mosaics. Couples can tie the knot underneath a jaw-dropping stained glass atrium and dance the night away in front of a vault door—the latter of which looks particularly incredible when adorned with flowers and greenery. 2. Bloedel Conservatory

Location: Vancouver

Maximum Capacity: 30

Price: From $705

What the Bloedel Conservatory lacks in space (this venue can only accommodate intimate ceremonies), it makes up for in exoticism. The dome at the top of Queen Elizabeth Park, which can be booked for morning or evening ceremonies, is home to over 100 free-flying birds and more than 500 tropical plants. In other words, it’s ideal for brides and grooms that want to exchange vows among a colourful array of flora and fauna.

3. The Greenhouse

Location: Abbotsford

Maximum Capacity: 24

Price: From $2,000

This whimsical greenhouse provides the perfect blank slate for couples that want to design a one-of-a-kind ceremony. Owned by the team behind Woodpecker Rentals, the venue’s Deluxe Package will give you access to a stunning collection of wood tables, chairs and benches to help pull your vision together. Plus, it can accommodate weddings in any season: the greenhouse has windows to let in cool air during the summer months and is equipped with a wood-burning stove to ensure winter weddings are as cozy as they are romantic. 4. Estate 248

Location: Langley

Maximum Capacity: 125

Price: Available upon request

While it’s not unusual to get married at a golf course, it’s far less common to get married in a barn at a golf course—but that’s exactly what you can do at Estate 248. The property has everything couples need to set the scene for a country wedding, from rustic barns and spacious lawns to gravel footpaths and split-level fences. Meanwhile, a farmhouse offers an idyllic setting for getting-ready photos and first looks.

5. The Polygon Gallery

Location: North Vancouver

Maximum Capacity: 500 standing; 180 seated

Price: From $6,250

If you’ve dreamed of saying “I do” in a minimalist, contemporary venue, look no further than the Polygon Gallery. Its rental package, available for the 2022 wedding season, will give you exclusive use of the 24,000-square-foot facility—including the Main Floor Gallery, Seaspan Pavilion, TD Bank Group Gallery and Freybe Family Gallery. Artwork and wall colour is subject to change depending on current exhibitions, so every wedding is pretty much guaranteed to have a different look and feel. (Photo: Rachel Barkman Photography.)

6. Brix and Mortar

Location: Vancouver

Maximum Capacity: 120 standing; 95 seated

Price: Available upon request

This Yaletown restaurant may look unassuming from the street, but once you get inside it’s easy to see why it’s made our list of the most unique wedding venues in Vancouver. The magical, vine-draped courtyard is just one of its standout features. It can be difficult to find a space that ticks all the boxes, but Brix and Mortar somehow manages to be urban, chic and relaxed all at the same time. (Photo: Paige Lorainne Photography.)
