From comedy shows to floral workshops, we’ve found stagette activities every bride-to-be will love.

Whether you’re celebrating for just one day, or planning a weekend-long bachelorette bash, these ideas are sure to please the bride—and all of her maids. Who doesn’t love a night in Vancouver with the ladies?

1. Put a Crown On

Learn how to make Pinterest-worthy flower arrangements or real flower crowns (not the fake Snapchat filter kind) at a workshop by Celsia Floral. Book a private party and catch up with the gals over bubbly, bites, and fresh stems. Celsia Floral can provide refreshments, or you can have the event catered.

2. Werk Out

Unleash your sensual side during a private pole dance class with one of Tantra Fitness’s expert instructors. Beware: pole dancing is a workout and you’ll definitely be feeling your abs the next morning. Tantra offers a variety of packages, however if you are looking to watch a little show at the end, you should opt for Package G, which includes a performance by an exotic male dancer.

3. Cook Up a Storm

Have your own Iron Chef-style competition. There are a number of different cooking classes and challenges you can sign up for at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, but for the Iron Chef Challenge, you only need a minimum of 10 participants. Just like the show, teams are presented with a mystery ingredient that they have to make dishes out of. Teams have 30 minutes to whip the dishes together and then present to the panel of judges to find out who will “reign supreme.” The package comes with a chef facilitator, plates, ingredients, test kitchens and prizes. Afterwards, you can treat yourself to a gourmet meal in the Bistro 101 restaurant.

4. Ride in Style

Go cruising in a party bus from Time Limousine. The buses come with laser lights, surround sound speaker systems and bars—the perfect combination for a night on the town. You can book two to six hours of service with as many stops as you like. Whether you’re looking to take photos at your favourite landmarks, or want to have a dance party in between stops at the bars in Gastown, this designated driver will take you wherever the bride desires.

5. Get Creative

Things are about to get messy and we highly recommend you wear white. Embrace your inner artist (or child) with a paint splatter party at a 4Cats Arts Studio. Bachelorette parties can book a session during which everyone works to create a 30” x 58” splatter painting for the bride. In addition, each person can also work on their own smaller stretch canvas. For UV splatter parties, you’ll be provided with neon paint and a dark room so you can see the magic unfold in front of you. Be prepared to come out covered in paint from head-to-toe, as this event is inspired by Jackson Pollock (an artist known for his drip-and-splash style). After all the splashing, or painting, is complete, guests can nibble on snacks brought in by the hosts.

6. Sit Back and Relax

Sit back and relax with a day at the spa. The Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Pacific Rim offers a full menu of treatments ranging from full-body wraps (including a medicinal Moor mud wrap with a mini-facial) to pedicures. If your group is planning to spend the day here, try booking one of the special occasions packages. The “Day At The Spa” package includes a purifying detox facial, a signature massage, a manicure and pedicure, as well as a healthy spa lunch.

7. Play Watch Ball!

If the bride is an avid sports fan, or just likes to go to the good ol’ ball game every once in a while, head over to the Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium for brews, hotdogs and a Canadians game. Or, check out a Terminal City Roller Girls derby league doubleheader (each game is about 90 minutes). These athletes do not mess around–you’ll be on your feet in seconds cheering for your favourite team as they fly around the rink. Head to the beer garden after and try your luck with the 50/50 raffle.

8. Laugh Out Loud

Make your sides ache with laughter with one of these shows. Vancouver has a great local comedy scene that you can indulge in with the bride on just about every day of the week. However, for the weekend, we recommend Theatresports at Granville Island’s Improv After Dark, where audience members can yell out absurd suggestions to the cast to play off of while sipping on cocktails. Another option to book in advance, is The Lady Show that happens once a month. This ensemble cast of all women puts on themed sketch shows (last month’s was prom) and encourages the audience to dress up. Or if you are looking for a way to cap off an epic weekend, check out the high-energy improve troupe The Sunday Service at The Fox Cabaret.
