There is not nearly enough pleasant going around these days. Dramatic—we got that in spades. Angry? Way too much. But pleasant? Bring it on in, please.
The amazing Nouvelle Nouvelle
Which is why this event—Pleasant Parings—from frequent VanMag contributor Kurtis Kolt, has us smiling.
Here's the idea: a handful of they very coolest winemakers from already very cool Naramata are partnering with local, independent Mount Pleasant boutiques for a casual evening of responsible shopping and mostly responsible sipping. Here's the full skinny:
To ensure the holiday season starts off on a festive note, seven Mount Pleasant boutiques are partnering with wine, cider and spirit producers from the Okanagan Valley’s Naramata Bench to offer a casual evening of strolling, shopping and sipping on Main Street.
On Wednesday, December 1 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M, Nouvelle Nouvelle, Vancouver Special, Sunja Link, Collage Collage, Woo to See You, Eugene Choo, and Good Boy Collective will have their doors open for browsing and holiday inspiration. Joining them to share their wares with complimentary tastings are Naramata’s Lock & Worth Winery, Bella Wines, Daydreamer Wines, Legend Distilling, Elephant Island Winery, Nichol Vineyard & Naramata Cider Co. all of whom have joined together to offer a #NaramataLoveBox for the holidays, offering the best bottlings from the Bench. Opportunities to order a #NaramataLoveBox will be available at all boutiques.

These really are some of the great smaller wineries in the Province and a goodly portion of their tough-to-acquire bottles are long sold out on their websites, so to be able to sample gratis and buy the enticingly named Naramata Love Box, is a huge positive, especially as you get to support some of the city's best independent stores.
