Herschel’s Nordstrom Collab Is a Fuzzy, Colour-Happy Dream

Corduroy, faux tiger-print fur, ripstop, oh my!

If you’ve long admired Herschel Supply‘s hipster-minimal vibe but found the bags a little too plain Jane for your liking (where are the animal prints? The faux fur? The colour-blocked prints??), well, do I have some good news for you.

The Vancouver-based accessories label was recently unveiled as Nordstrom’s latest collaborator, with the pair teaming up to launch a limited-edition collection of funky, fashion-forward backpacks, totes, fanny packs and other accessories that combine Herschel’s classic no-fuss silhouettes with cool ’80s- and ’90s-influenced design touches from Olivia Kim, Nordstrom’s vice president of creative projects. (Kim regularly curates Nordstrom’s trendy Pop-In Shop, where the Herschel collab is available until September 29. She’s also the former vice president of creative at Opening Ceremony, so you know she has good taste.)

The Nordstrom x Herschel collection features more than 100 unisex items, many of them covered in faux tiger-print fur, colour-blocked corduroy, fuzzy deep-pile fleece (basically the teddy look on steroids) or a combo of canvas and tear-resistant ripstop. There’s also luggage coated in primary hues; specially designed tees and sweatshirts; and iron-on Herschel patches, available for the first time in languages like Korean and Arabic.

Vancouver is one of only eight cities in North America that’s carrying the line at its local Nordstrom. Check out a few of our favourite items from the Nordstrom x Herschel collab below.
