Okoko Cosmétiques founder Oyéta Kokoroko is no stranger to the pages of Vanmag: she was featured in our On the Rise style column in 2019, and last summer snagged a Made in Vancouver Award in the Beauty category—a win that also got her covergal status. Today, she opened her first retail store. You go, Kokoroko.

x L'Atelier Okoko opened at 162 Powell Street on January 6, highlighting Okoko Cosmétiques products (of course) but also products from other green beauty brands (think non-toxic nail polish, organic supplements, and tea blends). They also offer beauty consultations and workshops on whatever’s hot in wellness right now.

The store is the first in the city to offer exclusively green beauty products. Kokoroko has long been a champion of natural ingredients and being transparent about what goes in her various creams, oils, serums and balms—the Beauté Majestique Cleanser, Mask and Exfoliator was our 2020 Made in Vancouver winner. She’ll be hosting a virtual launch party (because nothing’s more beautiful than following provincial health protocols) soon—follow her Instagram to stay up to date.
