After the year we've all had, all we want for Christmas is comfort (and maybe a five-day nap). And with some semblance of holiday gatherings and get-togethers still in order with your closest family members or chosen bubble, the culinary teams at some of our Vancouver favourites have been cooking up some creative take-out kits to bring you as much comfort as possible this season. Here is your comprehensive holiday takeout list.

Boulevard

lk

Our reigning Restaurant of the Year also happens to be in the Sutton Place Hotel, so they know a thing or two about being able to replicate a dinner perfectly. Their Christmas offering comes in two iterations. The Turkey one ($218 cold, $268 hot) starts with their rightly famous corn bread with spiced butternut squash soup before hitting the classics: Brined and Sage Roasted Turkey Breast and Slow Roasted Legs, Madeira Scented Giblet Gravy andTraditional Cranberry Sauce, Brioche, Apples, Chestnut and Thyme Stuffing, Whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes, Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Honey Glazed Carrots. Dessert is Black Forest Cake. Feed 4-5

The Prime Rib ($275/$325) option subs out the stuffing with Yorkshire puddings and also feeds 4-5. Is it us or does this seem like less of an option and more like a Christmas Eve, Christmas Day double feature?

Another huge benefit to the Sutton Place locale means that this is one of the few places which allows pick on the 23rd, 24th or 25th. Click here to order.

Say Mercy

fgh

The big-hearted Fraser St. spot is doing both a dinner and a breakfast (or dinner and brunch if you're a baller). The theme is big flavours (definitely in their strike zone) for smaller groups (you don't have a choice. For dinner ($175 for 4 people) it's their take on the classics: roasted turketta with apples and sage (think porchetta with less fat), cornbread stuffing with sausage, pomme puree (that's mashed potatoes, kids), root veg, brussels sprouts, gravy, hot sauce, lingonberry sauce, apple hand pies with bourbon caramel (phew!). Breakfast ($75) sees Chef Sean Reeve riff on his childhood faves: tomato and spinach strata with aged cheddar and ricotta, eggnog cinnamon buns with cream cheese frosting (just, wow) and bacon and sausages.

Pick-up is Dec 23rd and includes  a video of how to prepare everything, with Chef Sean taking you through all the steps. Order here.

Partial proceeds of each meal kit will also be donated to the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre, to support their 2021 programming.
