The Lazy Gourmet
The Vancouver caterer has two options for your special night – a Saint Valentine Set Menu (from $120 for two) and a Dessert Box ($36 for 20 pieces). Both seem like good choices, but the Set Menu does come with its own red velvet cheesecake.
If you decide to start with dessert (no rules!) you’ll then get to finish off with a vegan tapas platter starter and the kale panzanella salad. For the main course, you'll choose between braised short rib and banana leaf wrapped siso cod, each accompanied with potatoes and broccolini.
If you’re craving seafood, they’ve also got a Seafood Tapas Box ($125) with an assortment of ahi tuna, prawns in a cocktail sauce, mushroom-stuffed scallops, Inari, and more.
You can also add on wine, champagne or their featured Orange Blossom cocktail, if you’re feeling fancy.

Three restaurants – Seasons in the Park, The Sandbar and Cardero’s - are all offering a special menu available for pick-up on Feb 14 from 2:30-4:30, called their Date Night at Home menu ($99). The three-course meal includes ravioli in rose sauce, lobster thermidor, and of course a dessert to steal the show – chocolate lava cake. This easy-peasy setup is reheat-ready in sophisticated packaging to replicate the dining experience without any fuss.

Blue Hat Bakery-Cafe
What sounds better than waking up to freshly baked treats and bubbly? The Bubbles and Brunch in Bed Kit for 2 is the perfect combo, especially since Valentine’s falls on a Sunday this year. With pre-order available online now, and pickup ready on Feburary 13, the DIY morning spread ($69+) comes with all the essential services: croissants, chocolate, bubbly, yogurt parfaits and a baked egg dish from PICA’s Blue Hat Bakery-Café.

The Pink Peppercorn Cosmopolitan pairs nicely with B House’s 3-course Valentine’s Day Menu for Two. While sipping your Cosmo, you’ll be enjoying their Surf ‘N Turf Platter filled with AAA Sirloin, roasted mustard with wild sockeye salmon, macaroni in a creole sauce with prawns, rosemary roasted baby potatoes, seasonal veggies in a balsamic glaze, creamy horseradish, and smoked salt. As far as 3-course menus go, you can’t really go wrong with Fable’s Happy Dine-In Valentine’s Day 2021 selections for your night. You get to choose between the steak dinner or seared sockeye salmon or the house-made pasta ($45 for dine-in, $50 for pickup, $55 for delivery). Dessert options include their ‘Elvis Gateaux,’ a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and caramel, or the strawberry shortcake roll complete with vanilla whipped cream to finish it off. Their full wine pairing flight goes nicely with either of these sweet picks.

Even though the most romantic city in the world is currently off-limits, you can still get your fill of traditional French desserts, no flight required. From the vanilla crème brulée to the chocolate tart with chili and salted caramel sauce to the rhubarb tart with vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis, these options are très magnifique. Straight and Marrow
The infamous Beef Heart Tartare from Chef Chris Lam is back again this year. The dish features a heart-shaped quail’s egg and is available from the 12 to 14 ($16). The restaurant’s bar manager, Chad Rivard has alsocreated the sultry cocktail, the Kiss from a Rose ($14) with wild rose-infused vodka, creme de cassis and lambrusco rosso.

Gotham Steakhouse and Bar
Get an early start on celebrating Love Day with Gotham’s Valentine’s Day Dinner for Two ($199.50) available from February 9 to 16. Multi-course meals ranging from fresh seafood and prime beef to Atlantic lobster. Opt for take-out, or stay with your party of 2 inside and enjoy live performances throughout the evening. At the bar, you’ll find the seasonal cocktail ‘New Flame,’ a mix of gin, red vermouth, lillet, strawberry syrup, and Campari meringue foam garnished with rose sugar.

Salt Tasting Room
Your one-stop shop for V-Day treats and flowers - Gastown’s Salt Tasting Room has joined forces with Avelyn Florist for a collaboration that just makes sense. Gone are the days of desperately running around town for those last-minute finishing touches. Instead, you can plan ahead with the Salt Box - a pizza box filled with all the charcuterie essentials and the Forever Rose as the perfect finishing touch.

From February 12 to 14, Minami has a special meal at home for two, the Kaede Bento ($125). It comes with a sushi course filled with a variety of oshi sushi, their Champagne Roll, and ebi nigiri. Short rib gyoza and ebi fritters are included in the appies, and an entrée of Aburi butler steak and chicken ballotine finish off the meal. Dessert options include caramel espresso choux a la crème and green tea opera.

Valentine’s at Honey Salt is a three-course menu ($65) with a glass of bubbles right from the get-go. The menu's appetizers range from oysters on the 1/2 shell, Snake River beef carpaccio, or roasted carrots in charred sweet pepper hummus. The entrées are the choice of braised beef short rib, lobster and shrimp newberg vol au vent, wild mushroom & truffle tagliatelle, or BC bouillabaisse.Their in-person dinning option includes their VIP Booth Experience ($150) on the evenings of the 13 and 14, and along with the private booth, you’ll get a floral arrangement, bottle of Prosecco and chocolate truffles.

Fresh Ideas Start Here (F.I.S.H.)
BC’s very own Fresh Ideas Start Here is a brand-new sustainable option for that seafood craving. Their FISH Valentine’s Day Platters (small $45; medium $75; large $95) come with seaweed salad, wild salmon spread, lemon, crackers, and pickled vegetables accompaniments. You can pick from a variety of fresh seafood, including cooked Dungeness crab, cooked lobster tail, sashimi (sockeye, albacore tuna, ahi tuna, scallops), shrimp cocktail, octopus salad, squid salad, marinated clams and mussels and salmon roulade.

Le Tigre Truck
Last fall, Le Tigre food truck rolled back on the streets serving their fiery Korean and Taiwanese bowls, and now they’ve got their first ever multi-course dinner sets available from February 9 onwards. There will be two dinner sets to choose from, each with four side dishes, rice and a choice of either Asian-style chicken pot ($65) or braised beef short ribs ($75) as the main course (for two, obvs). Say more this V-Day with a 5-course Valentine’s day meal ($120 for two) - an ode to the two chefs at Say Mercy! celebrating their 5-year ‘workaversary’ – yes, that’s a thing. On the menu is their oyster dish aptly named ‘Two Heads of the Same Coin,’ followed by caramelized endive salad, ‘Flava’ in ya Ear.’ Enjoy the comfort food classic – chicken noodle soup, ‘Kid Campbell,’ and for the main course – Pork Hock on Dirty Farro. Dessert is a take on the Oh Henry bar, with the ‘Oh Mercy!’ Chocolate and peanut butter, but make it fancy.

The Mackenzie Room
This 5-course tasting menu ($120 for two) comes right in time for Valentine’s Day with dishes like the Bagel & Lox – a steelhead tartare, a Turn Up the Beet, beet salad, and mains including Midnight Snack – a cod dish, (see the juicy pic above) and Shake n Bake – a black tea and rosemary glazed duck dish. Dessert will not only give you a sugar rush, but the sugar pie, Head Rush, will be the proverbial cherry on top.

Maenam's Valentine's offerings are meant to be shared (romance alert) and priced at $37 for lunch (one starter and three mains) and $48 for dinner (snacks, one starter, three mains, and two desserts). Diners can choose from a selection of chef Angus An's awesome Thai dishes like house-made pork sausage salad with crispy rice and Panang peanut curry of braised beef for lunch and grilled free-range chicken salad with pomelo and southern-style seafood turmeric gati curry for dinner.
Homer Street Café and Bar
The crew at Homer have a V-day package at home (from $89) for that special day. The three-course dinner starts off strong with kampachi tuna crudo, and the main event is a 12oz AAA Striploin & butter poached lobster tail. Then comes a dark chocolate tarte with hazelnut crumb and Irish cream Chantilly. Wine options include Hatch Winery’s ‘Octobubble’ rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Pinot Noir. Straight from the Forage kitchen, the Valentine’s Takeout Package ($170 for 2) brings you the complete package from their bison cheeks (available on Saturday) to roasted lamb leg (available on Sunday) accompanied by Bizou + Yukon bubbles. The set also comes with their infamous bake-at-home scones with mimosa jelly (so save some room for dessert—or have them the next morning).

The Main Street pizza joint has three cheesy V-day specials, in collaboration with Peroni Nastro Azzurro. Choose from their Ti Amo Special with their Lombardia – a pie with smoked lardo, peroni onions, butternut squash, besciamella, Grana Padano and 2 bottles of Peroni. Their Heart-shaped Margherita Special is veggie friendly, with tomato sauce, fior di latte, olive oil and basil and also comes with 2 bottles of Peroni. Last, but not even slightly least, the Amore Special is a combination of both the Lombardia and the Margherita pizzas so you don’t have to choose between the two, and a 6-pack of Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
This Sunday, the Valentine’s Day 3-course menu ($36/person) at New West’s Spanish hotspot is bringing the heat and the chocolate. From their salt-baked nopal and Oaxaca salad with dark chocolate balsamic dressing, to their spiced Mexican hot chocolate braised pork cheek with roasted winter veggies. Dessert is a nutty elderflower white chocolate mole tart, handmade from scratch.
