As you slowly start to check family members off your Christmas list, the Canucks fan in your life might present a little more difficulty than usual.
One of those new reverse retro jerseys? Meh… plus, who knows when they’ll ever get to wear it at a game? And, of course, the usual obligatory gift of tickets is out the window.
So why not get a little creative and head to Cameo for a custom video greeting from one of their favourite Canucks legends past or present? We’ve collected some options for you below.
Vegas Golden Knights on Twitter
One of the newest Vancouver Canucks (and the only current full-timer on Cameo), Schmidt was signed in the offseason from the Vegas Golden Knights and will likely be one of the better defencemen on the roster for the foreseeable future.
He’s also known around the league as one of the NHL’s better personalities, and has already endeared himself to the Vancouver faithful.
The $88 price is a bit steep, sure, but it’s also appropriate given it’s the number he wears on the ice.
Verdict: He has the right personality for it. But given he’s only been a Canuck for a few months, maybe this is a better gift for a few seasons from now. Hopefully he keeps on Cameo’ing on.
Edmonton Oilers on Twitter
Okay, so Kassian didn’t exactly have the best career in Vancouver. After some hefty expectations the power forward didn’t work out as a Canuck and was traded to Montreal for a terrible human being.
Kassian’s story since then is an uplifting one. After flaming out in Montreal due to a substance abuse issue, he got his life and career back on track in Edmonton playing next to Connor McDavid.
Verdict: While there is definitely a cadre of Canucks fans who support him, he didn’t have enough time or success here to validate it.
We’ll say this for the former Canucks defenceman: he was certainly never dull. And hey, there are probably a lot of interesting things you could get him to talk about.
Verdict: Tough sell. If there’s anybody in Vancouver whose favourite Canuck of all time is Shane O’Brien, we haven’t met them.
New Jersey Devils on Twitter
The recent third-string goalie for the Canucks was sure popular with his teammates due to his pie-making skills during the NHL’s bubble. With Canucks fandom writ large? We sorta doubt it—he only played one game with the club before following what seems like the rest of the team to Calgary in the offseason.
Bailey had a lot of success with the Utica Comets of the AHL this year, putting up 47 points in 53 games. At the NHL level? Not so much—he only played two games with the Canucks.
Verdict: Maybe for the Utica Comets fan in your life?
The Vancouver Canucks’ in-house PA announcer has been doing custom announcements for fans throughout the pandemic, so it’s no surprise he’s letting fans pick their own calls via Cameo.
Verdict: This is a pretty solid option, and it’ll only run you $25.

The Canucks’ presumable 1A goalie for next year is popular, skilled and seems like a great guy. This is definitely the one to get, so of course he’s not available on Cameo right now.
Verdict: Maybe he gets back on Cameo before the 25th?

Verdict: No. Never.
