This Is What a Flight From Toronto to Vancouver Looks Like

We’re all avoiding YVR if we can help it right now, and not just because the Pajo’s is a total letdown. (It’s not the same if you don’t have a seagull eyeballing your two-piece cod.) All the COVID-19 precautions—reduced flights, cancelled trips, delayed vacations—have rendered the usually busy airport a ghostly place.

Australian photographer Josh Geelen (@gossipgeels on Instagram) was freelancing in Toronto, and like many globetrotters, he recently made the difficult decision to fly back home. He managed to catch the last flight back to Australia from Canada, snapping this pic on his connector from Toronto to Vancouver. “It was an incredibly strange and empty flight with a strong sense of uneasiness on it,” Geelen says.
