The Cultch is shutting down all their public spaces until further notice, including their three theatres, the Gallery and box offices. But that won’t stop them from bringing their creative talents to the public.

Theatre Replacement will live-stream their newest show MINE on their Facebook page at 7 pm today and Friday and 2 pm on Saturday. The performance will be free and open to everyone.

The show, suggested for adults and kids over 10, is inspired by the relationship between Theatre Replacement’s Co-Artistic Director Maiko Yamamoto and her 11-year-old son’s passion for Minecraft.

“It’s really a show that’s meant to be watched by adults and their tween, videogame-aged kids together,” says Yamamoto. “What we’ve found is that the youth understand the language of the show on another level, while the parents get it in quite a different wayoften having to be educated by their kids.”

The talented group of gamers and performers, ages 11 to 46, tell different mother-son stories across time, from Beowulf to Bambi, through live-operated Minecraft gaming.

To watch, log onto Theatre Replacement’s Facebook page at the designated performance start time or go to their Twitch channel
