English makeup artist to the stars Charlotte Tilbury has been experimenting with beauty products since the tender age of 13 (and apparently has worn mascara every day since). Public demand for her industry expertise has resulted in the launch of Tilbury’s namesake cosmetics line Monday, July 13 at Holt Renfrew. We asked the beauty mogul – fans of whom include Amal Clooney, Miranda Kerr, and Victoria Beckham – how to stay fresh this summer.

What are this summer’s beauty trends? Glowing, dewy, luminous skin is key for women of all ages right now. Skincare is super important – I would never do someone’s makeup without my Magic Skin Trilogy, which consists of my new Goddess Skin Clay Mask, Magic Cream and Wonderglow.

What must every woman have in her summer make-up bag this year? Supermodel Body is summer confidence in a bottle – it’s based on the special concoction I used backstage at Victoria’s Secret shows. It contains Fermi-Protect and a precious metal highlighter mix, which catches the light on the skin for a sun kissed glow.

How do you separate yourself from the thousands of other beauty lines? There’s so much choice and so little direction – I wanted to be different. My brand is all about easy to choose, easy to use products: makeup made easy. We’ve sourced the most couture formulas and put them in ready-to-wear formats.

What’s next for Charlotte Tilbury? My Matte Revolution lipsticks are launching in Canada this September. Most matte lipsticks leave your pout looking ‘cakey’ and dry – this is a modern, moisturizing matte lipstick.
