Here’s a real chance to indulge your inner child in a COVID-friendly way (we’re thinking ball pits are a pandemic no-no). The Hot Chocolate Fest features 39 local restaurants who’ve crafted 87 special cocoas—like the one pictured above, the Mauna Loa from Honolulu Coffee. It’s got 70% dark chocolate, maple chilli bacon syrup, cayenne pepper and paprika and is named after the world’s largest volcano (plus it comes with a volcano-shaped brownie, boom). Quit microwaving that Nestle, it’s 2021.

2. Graveyards and Gardens

Check out what’s on this week at the Rio Sports Bar, our city’s newest cheeky spot for games on the big screen.
4. Indulge in Feel-Good Storytime

To combat what seems like a universal feeling of anxiety and isolation (guilty!), the Vancouver Public Library is hosting a good old-fashioned storytime—positive vibes only. During this livestream, storytellers Vanessa Richards, Charles Montgomery, Emilee Gilpin and Michelle Cyca will be sharing tales of connection during COVID (and helping us all feel a little less alone).
5. Grab a Burger

If you’ve been keeping up with our Instagram, you know our editors have been trying every burger we can get our hands on (stay tuned for our draft of the best burgers in the city). We snagged a Between 2 Buns burger at Bestie last week, and they’re popping back up at Container Brewing this weekend—get there early to avoid the line.
