Festivals are a permanent fixture of the summer season, but few endure long enough to become bona fide traditions. The Harmony Arts Festival is an exceptional exception: this year marks its 25th annual edition, and it honours the occasion with more all-ages attractions than ever before.Throughout 10 days (beginning Friday), Harmony Arts brings music, film, visual art, kids’ activities (including workshops and a four-day camp), food, and more to venues along the West Vancouver waterfront. Browse the work of more than 400 artists at various exhibits and a juried art market; take in as many of the 70 concerts (from folk to jazz to pop) as you can; enjoy contemporary and classic movies like Casablanca and Big Hero 6 under the stars at Cinema in the Park; and embark upon a culinary tour of street eats, fine dining, and award-winning wines. This only scratches the surface of the hundreds of happenings at Harmony. Check the website for complete details, and know that you can truly explore the fest to your heart’s content, because every event (excepting the Harmony Kids Camp) is free!Harmony Arts FestivalJuly 31-Aug. 9At various venues in West VancouverHarmonyarts.ca
