Pacific Autism Family Network Launches LEGO® Landmark “Brick-by-Brick” Design Challenge

What do LEGO® bricks, B.C. landmarks and meaningful inclusion have in common?

This fall, teams across the province will reimagine some of British Columbia’s most iconic places using nothing but LEGO® and creativity. The initiative, Brick-by-Brick: Building Meaningful Inclusion, is more than a fun design challenge—it’s a fundraiser in support of the Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN).

Organized in partnership with the Pooni Group Foundation, the challenge invites teams to select a B.C. landmark, recreate it using LEGO® and submit their build for judging. All proceeds go directly to PAFN to fund programs that support individuals and families in the autism community.

Teams are encouraged to approach the competition like a design brief: research their landmark, sketch ideas, gather materials and thoughtfully execute their model. Entries will be judged on creativity, accuracy, building technique and presentation. Finalists and winners will be recognized during a public showcase during the 2025 holiday season.

“At its core, Brick-by-Brick is more than just a competition” said Loring Phinney, CEO of PAFN. “It’s about building understanding, visibility and belonging to help create a more inclusive community.”

How to Get Involved with Brick-by-Brick

1. Create Your Team

Gather friends, family or coworkers, pick a team name and choose your top two landmarks. (Landmarks are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.)

2. Register by August 30, 2025

Visit the registration page, select “I am donating as a company,” enter your team info and landmark choices and submit payment. The entrance fee is a 100 percent charitable donation to PAFN.

3. Build Your Landmark

Once registered, it’s time to create. Buy your LEGO®, plan your model and build according to the guidelines. Teams can collaborate, divide tasks and bring their design to life.

Brick-by-Brick is a chance to give back through creativity, while celebrating the places that shape our province. It’s a reminder that even the smallest bricks can help build a more inclusive future.
