Meet the Makers: Mona Sultan

Get to know the designers and artisans that were featured in our Made-in-Vancouver gift guide

Scarf designer Mona Sultan is utilizing her degree in Graphic Design and her love of fabric to create wearable pieces of art. Originally from Syria, Sultan inherited a fascination with textiles from her mother (who worked as a seamstress). Her curiosity was further indulged when she moved west and enrolled in Emily Carr University, studying the traditional printing techniques that would later be applied to her luxury scarf line. A combination of nostalgia and contemporary design, Sultan’s scarves have graced the pages of our Made-in-Vancouver gift guide and now Sultan shares with us what’s on her holiday wish list.Mona-Sultan-HeadshotWhat’s on your Christmas list this year?A floatation session at Metta Rest Spa, it’s my new favourite thing!
