Cooder, White, and Skaggs at the Vogue

One of modern music’s most omnivorous guitarists visits the city.

Legendary guitar polymath Ry Cooder shares the Vogue stage with a combo made in country and bluegrass heaven. He’s teamed up with Grand Ole Opry members (and husband and wife) Ricky Skaggs and Sharon White, along with White’s 84-year-old pianist dad, Buck, and Cooder’s son, Joachim, on drums for good measure. Together, they’ll spend the night plundering American roots and gospel music that many a chicken shack and church has heard over the years.Cooder • White • SkaggsOct. 8, Vogue TheatreVoguetheatre.com
