You Can Now Have a Cocktail While You Shop for Groceries

At least you can at Como Chico, Como Taperia's new Spanish-style pop-up shop.

It feels as though it’s been a long time since we’ve been able to casually shop the market, but this is a grocery shopping trip we wish we had before COVID-19. Como Taperia is pivoting to become, ¿CóMO? Chico, reopening its doors on May 28, 2020 as a temporary tapas, drink and market pop-up shop. The kind of grocery trip where shoppers are encouraged to sip on a Spanish inspired cocktail while perusing and shopping the market.

¿CóMO? Chico will feature prepared tapas, tinned conservas, and a bevvy of wines, sherry, vermouth, gin and tonics, and sangria on-tap – all good to go both for take out, and for sipping while you shop for your authentic Spanish goods.

“The current regulations make it challenging for us to operate as we have know it, but we are here to continue bringing a piece of Spain to everyone in Vancouver,” says Shaun Layton, co-owner of Como.

There will also be some limited seating available both inside and out on Como’s newly created outdoor seating and stand-up patios.

¿CóMO? Chico officially opens this Thursday. Regular hours are Wednesdays to Sundays, from 12:00 pm. to 7:00 pm. Visit: comotaperia.com
