The dream combination: Bay, Beer, Barge.
“Sipping on the dock of the bay” is a marketing slogan we can get behind. Horseshoe Bay’s relationship with craft beer goes way back to B.C. (before craft), when John Mitchell was brewing beer on a barge and using a wheelbarrow to heave kegs to Troller to avoid jail. (Beer legislation was still pretty heavy-handed from the prohibition era.)The love affair between the bay and beer continues, as this Saturday marks the second year of beer on the barge. Back by popular demand from Vancouver’s ever-growing craft scene, the festival will feature music from Brickhouse, snacks from Tidlley Cove Lions Club, and, of course, beer samples—lots of ’em—from the likes of Bomber, Red Truck, Howe Sound, Parallel 49, and many more (view the full list here). Tickets are $40 and can be purchased in person at Sewell’s Marine and the Troller Ale House, or online at eventbrite.com.Saturday, June 13, 3-7pmSeawell’s Marina (6695 Nelson Ave.)Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouvereventbrite.com
