Trade in your traditional rum and eggnog for this port-spiked version from bartender Robyn Gray.
We’re not the only ones who haven’t finished our Christmas shopping, right? With only two weeks (!) to go, the aptly named Little Helper is exactly what you need to make it through the busy days leading up to the holidays. This unique cocktail, mixed with rum, port and eggnog, comes from Robyn Gray, bartender at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Reflections: The Garden Terrace. Adorned with twinkling Christmas trees, posies of mistletoe and glowing candles, it’s the perfect destination for a warming cocktail and a quick bite after a day of holiday shopping or a visit to one of Vancouver’s Christmas markets. But in case you feel like staying in (or if you’re one of the rare few who had their Christmas shopping done before November), here’s how you can make the drink at home:
30ml Mount Gay “Eclipse” Rum
30ml LBV Port
House-made eggnog.
Add in rum and port in an old fashioned glass with cubed ice.
Top with egg nog.
Mix well and garnish with nutmeg dust and serve.
