Sunrise hikes, organic meals and stunning views make for an unforgettable retreat.
Rancho La Puerta has been changing lives since Edmond and Deborah Szekely’s first guests arrived at a stunning Baja California campsite in 1940. The Ranch has since grown to include world-class gardens, an organic farm, a restaurant, a cooking school, a salon, an extensive spa and fitness facilities, swimming pools, and more, yet the desire to improve the visitors’ wellbeing has remained from the start.
Spanning a sprawling 4000 acres, Rancho La Puerta is a sanctuary in nature where guests can design personalized retreats from over 60 activities offered on any given day. Looking to recharge your fitness regime, for example? There’s a rich variety of options from which to choose, including spectacular hikes through The Ranch’s mountainsides and meadows, Pilates, dance, or pickleball.
Meals served at Rancho La Puerta keeps guests’ nutrition on target with delicious plant-based (with a hint of pescatarian) cuisine, with many ingredients sourced from The Ranch’s own six-acre organic farm. In keeping with the promotion of healthy habits, wine is not served with meals, but guests can retreat to The Ranch’s cozy wine lounge to sample wines from the region.Rancho La Puerta’s culinary centre and cooking school, La Cocina Que Canta (Spanish for “The Kitchen That Sings”) prepares guests to maintain heathy eating habits at home with hands-on cooking classes taught by internationally-renowned guest chefs and bestselling cookbook authors, as well as guest lectures from nutritionists.
Rancho La Puerta is located four miles into Mexico across the U.S. border in Tecate, Baja California, just an hour’s drive from San Diego’s airport. All stays at The Ranch include fitness classes, meals, daily guided sunrise mountain hikes, evening programs and entertainment, and the use of all recreational facilities pools, and hot tubs.
Canadians can save $750 on seven-night stays between June 30th and December 20th, 2019 (excluding July 27th to August 3rd). For more information on this and other offers, visit rancholapuerta.com/specials/ and for further details on all things Rancho La Puerta, visit rancholapuerta.com.
