This winter Bothell, Washington is transforming into a Pacific Northwest Who-Ville. On December 4, residents and visitors will gather on Main Street for the city’s spectacular Tree Lighting Festival. Bothell will be welcoming the Christmas season in style by lighting up a massive tree decked out for the season in the heart of downtown.The free public event—which organizers plan to repeat annually moving forward—isn’t exactly new to the area. Bothell had a similar tradition in years past. In fact, the same specimen was named the world’s largest living Christmas tree by Life magazine back in 1962. Local storeowners organizing the event are hoping the ode to years past will inspire former residents who grew up in Bothell to return to their hometown for the tree lighting.This year’s festival is designed to inspire a strong sense of community throughout Bothell and surrounding regions in time for the holidays.
