The local biz is bringing its pre-loved designer goods to the former Boboli men’s space.
Mine and Yours is expanding its retail footprint in Vancouver with a pop-up shop on South Granville.
The luxury women's consignment shop, which operates a store at 1025 Howe Street and is known for its selection of pre-loved designer goods, will launch the temporary shop at 2762 Granville Street on May 10. It will carry gently used clothing, bags and accessories from high-end names such as Chanel, Isabel Marant, Louis Vuitton and Dries van Noten, and mid-range labels like Alexander Wang and Self-Portrait. As is Mine and Yours’ model, all products will be priced up to 80 percent off the original retail price.
“This will kind of be our more elevated store,” says Courtney Watkins, owner of Mine and Yours. “We’re bringing our top pieces and more expensive items there.”
The pop-up will help alleviate the rapidly growing stock of pre-loved goods at Mine and Yours’ downtown Vancouver location, which Watkins says has increased significantly in the past year. She credits this jump to the trend of decluttering, as spurred by home-organization wiz Marie Kondo, and changing attitudes toward consignment stores. “There’s no stigma around it anymore whereas, before, wealthier women would be like, ‘I don’t need to sell my product,’ ” she says. “Now, it’s like, you may not necessarily need to do it, but it’s the smart thing to do.”
The Mine and Yours pop-up will run until July 31. Beginning mid-May, the location will purchase designer goods for resale—offering consigners cash or store credit upfront—on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Watkins hopes to either eventually expand the Howe Street store or open a permanent second Mine and Yours location in the city. The business launched as an online-only retailer in 2013 and opened a brick-and-mortar store in downtown Vancouver in 2016.
