In a city where the hectic, bustling ritual of dim sum is our preferred Sunday worship, Gold winner Dynasty Seafood, a view-heavy West Broadway room, does everything right. “Classic dishes are executed with such focus and clarity,” said one judge. Must-orders: steamed crab dumplings and lemon-spiked barbecued pork pastries.
The Jade (Silver) executes “the same care and focus that are hallmark of their dinner service. The fried rice paper rolls with preserved eggs, ginger, and prawns make for an odd but delicious combination.”
Bronze goes to Kirin: “I would hold up the Kirin dim sum experience with some of the best in Hong Kong, and I always delight in bringing out-of-town guests here,” enthused one judge.
Honourable Mentions to Neptune Seafood and Vivacity.
