Waterfront Wines (Gold) has dominated this award since 2009 and for good reason. Chef/owner Mark Filatow remains “hands down the best practitioner anywhere in the Interior,” and the judges remained in awe of his deep wine cellar and his ability to seamlessly pair regional cuisine and wine. Bouchons Bar Bistro (Silver) is for the sixth time a bridesmaid, but the judges did note that it’s “still the best French fare between Vancouver and Calgary.” Local (Bronze) made the podium this year with wine legend Harry McWatters and his team convincing chef Lee Humphries to leave Vancouver’s C and hang his toque at this pretty room in Summerland.
