A trifecta of new categories to whet your appetite for our Restaurant Awards results on April 18.

Last week, we announced the addition of three brand-new categories to the Vancouver magazine Restaurant Awards, and today, we’re adding three more.

Best Sushi

We’ve split up “Casual Japanese” into two distinct categories this year—Best Izakaya and Best Sushi—to celebrate the distinct skills required to master either.Your nominees are: Bar Maumi, Kishimoto, MasayoshiMikuMinami, Zest

Best Pacific Northwest

We’ve had a hard time honouring some of our favourite restaurants in the city over the past years… just where does locally minded fare fit into the Restaurant Awards list? Our solution for 2017: introducing the Best Pacific Northwest category to properly acknowledge the best of the West Coast.

Best Vegetarian/Vegan

The veg selection in this city has come a long way since we started the awards 28 years ago, so we’re finally bringing back the Best Vegetarian category. Herbivores, rejoice.
